Lisa is the Head Physiotherapist for The Jersey Rugby Club. Throughout her career, Lisa has maintained a keen interest in sports injuries and their rehabilitation.
Lisa has worked with a number of sporting groups. Her private practice experience is wide-ranging and includes the treatment of professional, and elite Olympic and International sportspersons from the fields of rugby, football and athletics. Lisa was the Head Physiotherapist for Wakefield Rugby Union between 2002 and 2004. Her role encompassed total player management including screening prior to being signed by the club, prophylactic rehabilitation programmes, pitch side cover on match days, acute injury management, rehabilitation and fitness testing prior to returning to sport. Lisa was also Head Physiotherapist for Yorkshire Rugby’s U20 and Senior teams between 1999 and 2004. She was part of the physiotherapy team at the Rugby Union World Cup in 1999.
Lisa left these posts to become the Clinical Lead in a leading private hospital in Leeds. She formed direct links with some of the best consultants, surgeons and professionals throughout the country. Lisa completed a Certificate in Spinal Manual Therapy and is currently studying for a Masters in Sports Physiotherapy, so rest assured your pains are in good hands!
Nigel Mann was educated at Victoria College and graduated from Leeds Metropolitan University with a degree in physiotherapy in 1998. He was the Lead Physiotherapist for the Yorkshire Regional Rheumatology Centre and it was here that he developed a special interest in the treatment and management of rheumatological conditions and in particular, hypermobility syndromes. This ultimately led to his interest in Pilates for rehabilitation and Nigel is the only fully certified Modified Pilates Instructor in Jersey.
In 2007, Nigel returned with his wife Lisa to Jersey to set up The Jersey Sports & Spinal Clinic, a physiotherapy clinic offering Physiotherapy, Modified Pilates and Occupational Health services. Nigel and Lisa are the clinical directors and also work full time as physiotherapists. They have over 20 years of clinical experience between them. Both have certificates in Spinal Manual Therapy, an advanced qualification in the treatment of back and neck problems. They are members of the Jersey Employers Network on Disability and The Jersey Occupational Safety and Health Association.
Nigel has also worked with the Leeds Pain Management Team, as an occupational health physiotherapist enabling people to stay at work and in Hospice care. Nigel is a computer workstation assessor and a Moving and Handling trainer.
Clare Bourne is a South African trained physiotherapist with a keen interest in the treatment and management of back and neck problems including headaches. In addition she also has extensive experience in the treatment of any joint related problems.
She has worked at the Texas Back Institute in Dallas and in private practice in Johannesburg and has recently relocated to Jersey.
Clare obtained a post graduate diploma in Manual therapy in 1990 and has been involved in teaching physiotherapists on the course since 1992. She has also presented a course on posture and biomechanics of the lower quarter; this includes postural and biomechanical assessment which addresses all predisposing factors linked to lumbar, pelvic, hip and knee problems.
Paul hails from New Zealand and graduated from Auckland University of Technology with a bachelor of Physiotherapy in 2004. He is currently completing his Post-graduate Diploma in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy and is now endorsed in Spinal Manipulative Therapy.
Paul’s passion for skiing led him to Wanaka in the South Island of New Zealand where he worked with one of the largest sports physiotherapy clinics in the country, treating a multitude of elite athletes from snow sports to triathlon. In conjunction with physiotherapy Paul qualified as a Ski Patroller which gave him the opportunity to work in both the North and South Island ski fields aiding in on mountain injury management.
In 2006 Paul was selected as full time physiotherapist for the US men’s Alpine Ski Team and travelled with the team during the European World Cup seasons of 2006-2008, and has continued to work with the athletes during their off-season camps in New Zealand.
Paul has a keen interest in injury prevention in sport. Much of his post-graduate research has focused around knee injury prevention programs for athletes and post operative (specifically anterior cruciate ligament injury) return to sport and function. In addition to this, Paul shares with Nigel an interest in rheumatological conditions in particular the management of fibromyalgia.
Aaron graduated from Brighton University in 2002, and worked within the NHS in a variety of areas prior to moving back to Jersey in 2004. He is a member of the UK Health Professions Council and Chartered Society of Physiotherapy, as well as the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists.
Aaron works Monday and Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings at the clinic.
Aaron has a keen interest in the rehabilitation and management of shoulder pain and injuries. He works closely with Mr Simon Lambert, a recurrent visiting Consultant Orthopaedic Shoulder Specialist from the UK.
He has also worked within a Back Assessment Clinic primarily involved with the management and rehabilitation of low back pain disorders, as well as gaining experience within a Pain Clinic with the management of many complex chronic pain syndromes.
Nina joined us at The Jersey Sports & Spinal Clinic in Sept 2008. Initially she worked within the administration area of the clinic but now she will be here to greet you at our reception at the new clinic. She has worked in administration for several years now and has extensive experience within medical administration. Nina enjoys working within the busy clinic and you will find her at reception managing account queries as well as assisting in some physiotherapy treatment sessions where required.

Jenna graduated from Huddersfield University in 2008 after completing a Post graduate diploma in Physiotherapy Jenna also has a BSc in Sports, Health, Exercise and Nutrition. Jenna is a member of the Health Profession Council, The Chartered Society of Physiotherapy, the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists and The Association of Chartered Physiotherapist in Sports and Exercise Medicine.
Since graduating Jenna has worked in the NHS in Huddersfield and Halifax as an outpatient physiotherapist before returning to Jersey to work in the General Hospital. Jenna now works part time at the general hospital and at the JSSC. Jenna has completed her Matwork Certification Series- Levels 1, 2 & 3 with the APPI and takes regular classes at the clinic.
When not busy running or cycling herself, Jenna has also pursued her keen interest in sports rehabilitation by working with the Jersey Rugby and was appointed the team physiotherapist for the Jersey Touch Rugby for the 2011 World Cup.
